Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e) is a research university specializing in engineering science & technology. TU/e's education, research and knowledge valorization contribute to: “Science for society: Solving the major societal issues and boosting prosperity and welfare by focusing on the Strategic Areas of Energy, Health, and Smart Mobility”; “Science for industry: the development of technological innovation in cooperation with industry”; “Science for science: progress in engineering sciences through excellence in key research cores and innovation in education”. The Technical University of Eindhoven was established in 1956.
Main tasks in EuHIT: TU/e combines a unique expertise in experiments, numerical investigation and data organization, database development and definition of standardized data formats for turbulence. TU/e plays a key role in improving and extending data services for the management of large computational and big-sized raw data sets and in the definition of archives for the creation of a virtual research community, as well as of search and analysis techniques. TU/e contributes to the definition of common standards for input and output formats, best practises and protocols and interoperability through the design of appropriate metadata and metadata access.
