In isotropic, homogeneous turbulence experiment, the energy is injected at large scale, and then cascade towards smaller scales, building a self-similar top to bottom cascade with an exponent close to -5/3. we would like to observe how is turbulence different when generated by impellers with Fractal blades in Von- Karman swirling flow experiment. From previous studies with Fractal grid turbulence in wind-tunnel, it was seen that there are interesting interaction between ”fractal generated” structures at a given scale, with the “cascade generated” structures created by the classical energy cascade from larger scales. Specifically are now interested to investigate the features of this type of turbulence from a Lagrangian measurement perspective. This will be done by the method of Lagragian particle tracking.
